Taking each day as it comes

You may experience sadness, tiredness, anger, relief, confusion or a mixture of emotions. Feelings can change from day to day, and there is no timetable for loss.

Allow yourself time

Try not to measure your experience against anyone else’s. Some days may feel manageable and others much harder.

Stay connected

Talking to a trusted friend, relative or support organisation can help, even when you are not sure what to say.

Care for everyday needs

Rest, meals, fresh air and small routines can provide some steadiness when life feels unfamiliar.

Seek additional support

If grief feels overwhelming or continues to affect your daily life, consider speaking with your GP or a qualified bereavement support service.
